Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity
Lāu-huè-á” is a Taiwanese term for the “elderly people.” The Songzhu Community, which is full of amateur painters, names itself “Lau Hue A (Old Painters)” as the homonym. It means that these ordinary elders living in the farm village have gradually developed their interest in painting and confidence in creation. It also epitomizes their journey to become the artists good at painting.
“An old person is like a treasure to a family.” The artist transforms the elders who love painting into the three old gods with ingots. Through their interesting and contented facial expression, he praises the three treasures of Songzhu! They are the three treasures of love and art: “Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity”!

Artist Chang Ho-min aims to highlight the artistic talents and confidence of the elders in Songzhu Community through his work. He specially invited the elders to participate by painting in groups, as they usually do, observing common patterns in their daily surroundings and freely expressing their creativity on canvas. The resulting beautiful paintings will become the unique and stunning garments adorning the three elder statues of "fortune, prosperity, and longevity".
